Mizutani knives have been manufactured exclusively in Japan, using a traditional, hand-made process, for80 years, since1921. This was preceded by centuries of manufacturing of prestigious samurai swords that also bore the Mizutani name.
The name Mizutani is derived from the name of the family, a member of the upper class in Japan, the Mizutani family, which has passed down the knowledge and technique of making Mizutani knives for generations.
