The name Mizutani is derived from the name of the Mizutani family, a member of the upper class in Japan, which has passed down the knowledge and technique of making Mizutani swords for generations, and was known in the past for producing prestigious samurai swords.

Mizotani scissors are made from cobalt, a metal that excels in its resistance to scratches and rust and is not damaged by exposure to high temperatures, indium, which helps maintain the shape of the product and prevents wear over many years, and molybdenum, which improves the strength and stability of the product.
